You are advised to write between 250 and 400 words on one of the following topics.
At the head of your composition write the number of the topic you have chosen.
1. What do you like and dislike most about a normal day at school?
2. Write a story based on an unexpected event which brought an important change to someone’s life.
3. In what ways do you think a student can benefit from travelling abroad?
4. Describe some of the happiest times of your childhood.
5. Everyone enjoys going shopping. How far do you agree?
6. Write about an important sports event which you and your friends found exciting.
Section Two (30 marks)
Begin your answer on a fresh page.
You are advised to write between 180 and 250 words for this section.
You should read the information carefully and plan your answer before beginning to write.
Imagine you are the team captain or chairperson of a club or society at your school.
Write an article for your school newsletter to encourage new students to take part in the co-curricular activity of which your club or society is in charge.
Your article must have a suitable heading and must include the following information about the activity.
• What the activity involves
• Any special clothing or equipment which is required
• The cost of the activity
• When it takes place
• The benefits and satisfaction to be gained.
You should include any other information which you think would be helpful.
