SHSS Situational Writing - A SPEECH

You are advised to write between 180 and 250 words for this section.
You should read the information carefully and plan your answer before beginning to write.

You and your classmates attended the May-June holidays Elective Modules this year.  You are nominated to speak on your learning experience during the next school assembly.  Write a speech to briefly describe and share your experience with the school and to persuade the principal to continue with the elective module programmes during the November-December holiday period.

In your speech, you must cover the following points in detail:
  • the courses you attended
  • the reasons for your choice
  • what you learned or benefited from the courses
  • how did you feel and think after attending the courses
  • why the school should continue with the courses in hte year-end holidays
  • any other matter which is relevant, meaningful and worth sharing with others.
Remember that your speech is a talk which is unaccompanied by any other visual presentation.  You are expected to write in clear, accurate English and in an appropriate tone for the occasion.
