The newsletter team has given you a task to write an article about the value of major Community Involvement Programme (CIP) activities organized by your school. You have researched the details of the activities as well as their outcomes which are highlighted below:
The New Paper - "Be Yourself Day"
Students were encouraged to hang up their school uniforms for a day and dress creatively to express themselves as part of the Youth Day activity. In exchange, each student had to donate a small amount of $2. The contributions helped The New Paper raise funds for THe President's Challenge 2008, which would benefit more than thirty charities. In total 824 students participated in this event. They also earned 1/2 CIP hours each.
South-East CDC - "Skipping for Grains"
For every twenty skps, one bowl of rice was provided for the needy. 47 students participated in this event and they clocked 79397 skips all together. Sutdents earned 1 CIP hour for 500 skips to a maximum of three CIP hours.
St. Patrick's School in Partnership with the Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF) - "Hair for Hope"
Students were encouraged to shave their heads bald in support of children with cancer who lost their hair after chemotherapy. 211 students participated in the event. Each student paid $4 per hair cut, half of which went to the Children Cancer Foundation. The Parent Support Group helped look for corporate sponsors. All together, $7060 was donated to the foundation.
Your article should reflect how one of the activities listed above stood out from the rest in terms of the number of student involvement, the extent of help rendered to the respective charities and the ability to foster a sense of compassion in the participants. You must also include some recommendations for that activity so that it will be more successful in the future. Set your article out in clear and accurate English.
