Section Two (30 marks)
You are advised to write between 250 and 350 words for this section.  You should read the information carefully and plan your answer before beginning to write.

Your school has successfully participated in commemorating Earth Hour 2010 by turning off the power supply for one hour on a Friday morning.  The Environmental Club, in a bid to raise even more awareness and to encourage consistent efforts to save the environment, has suggested some ideas as follow-up to the Earth Hour event:

"We should turn off the power supply for one hour every Friday morning.  This would remind the students the initial reasons why we participated in Earth Hour 2010.  We could track the difference in the utility bills every term and share with the student boyd how much we have saved in terms of energy consumption."

"We should not limit our contributions to the school.  We should adopt a nearby park.  Students would develop a greater sense of responsibility towards our natural environment by taking care of it."

"The school should organise an exhibtion that highlight the major environmental concerns.  The students will conduct their research by class and present their findings during the exhibition.  In this way, the students learn more details about the problems."

You are the Chairman of Environment Club, and you have been asked by the Principal to propose which would be the most appropriate idea.

Write a letter to the Principal, giving reasons for your choice.  Explain in detail why you think this idea would meet the Club's objectives of raising greater awareness and promoting consistent efforts to save the environment.

You should also take into consideration the school traditions and students' interests.

Your letter should be set in clear, correct English, with a persuasive tone, showing that you hope that the Principal would accept your proposal.
