Section One (30 marks)
You are advised to write about 350 to 500 words on one of the following topics.  At the head of your composition, write then number of the topic you have chosen. 

1.  The number of teens considered beyond parental control has risen.  What do you think are the reasons forthis rise and what do you think can be done to help these teens get back on the right track?

2.  Write about an occasion when you lost your calm becaues of an encounter with an unreasonable person.

3.  What are some of the factors that will influence your choice of the type of post-secondary education?

4.  Write about some of the things which make you proud to be a student in your school.

Section Two (30 marks)
Begin your answer on a fresh page.
You are advised to write between 250 and 350 words for this section. 
You should read the information carefully and plan your answer before beginning to write. 

Students of the graduating classes would like to show their gratitude to the school.  As the president of the Student Council, you have been tasked to handle this project.   Your team has conducted a survey amongst the students of the graduating classes to gather suggestions on ways to express their appreciation. 

The survey has generated three suggestions shwihc you think are feasible. 

Suggestion 1:

• Refurbish one of the existing rooms, converting it into a study room for students to use after school.
• This will provide students with a conducive study environment.
• Teachers and students are to contribute items to set up a mini-lounge within the room. 

Suggestion 2:

• Paint a mural (picture that is painted on a wall) on one of the walls in each of the classes.
• This will create a more vibrant classroom environment.
• Students can start a design competition during contact time to select a suitable mural.

Suggestion 3:

• Set up a team to manage the school bookshop instead of it being managed by a vendor.
• This can then be used as a Co-curricular activity for students as well.
• It can also be considered as an entrepreneurship project which the school can then use as a form of publicity at the primary schools.  
• Profits can be donated to students who are under financial assistance. 

Write a speech in which you explain to your fellow schoolmates (graduating classes) which of the three suggestions you prefer and the reasons for your choice.  Try to persuade them to support you and convince them that your choice should be selected.  Include recommendations on how you  intend to implement the sugggestion of your choice.
