Dear Sir or Madam

Anonymous Generous Donor – Ronald McDonald’s Children’s Charity Walk

I am Ummairah, a student from St. Hilda’s Secondary School, which was the organizer for Ronald McDonald’s Children’s Charity Walk, held on last Sunday, 4 July at Bedok Reservoir. We were raising funds to provide needy primary school students with daily pocket money to encourage them to attend school regularly. I volunteered to record the names of donors and collect funds at the reception booth that day.

I have been authorized by my school principal, Mr. Ong Kim Soon to write to you because I had received a single donation of USD10,000 that morning from an anonymous donor. I was very surprised as this was the largest donation from an individual. I did not get any opportunity to thank this donor personally because he had quickly mentioned his intention to contribute and swiftly handed in his cheque. He turned around and left the booth before I could even register his name to acknowledge his contribution. By the time I had alerted my principal and the other helpers, he was nowhere to be found at our event site. We are deeply touched by his generosity and the charity event organizers would like to thank him personally if possible.

We hope you can help us publish this letter or report the generosity of this slim and tall middle-aged Chinese man, probably in his forties, He has fair complexion and was wearing a bright yellow Hawaiian casual shirt and a pair of green-coloured Bermuda shorts. He also speaks English with an American accent.

We would like you to know that because of his donation, we are able to reach out to help more students than we have originally planned – two hundred more to be exact. In addition, all students will be receiving an additional twenty cents daily for a period of six months. We are indeed greatly encouraged by his kind and selfless gesture. He made us believe that there are people out there who truly want to help students who go hungry without money to buy food or lack resources to attend to their studies properly.

Please assist us in this matter. If you need any further information, kindly let me know. I can be contacted at 91121234 or you can write to me at ummairah@gmail.com.sg. Your kind understanding and consideration will be deeply appreciated by all at our charity.

Yours faithfully
Ummairah
